What is Blue Light?

Blue Light is Light from the Visible Light Spectrum portion of the Electro Magnetic Spectrum. It is the highest energy light in the Visible Spectrum. It does not focus on the retina leading to blur and it scatters inside the eye leading to straylight induced loss of acuity and contrast sensitivity.Blue light can cause eye fatigue, dry eye, blurred vision, headaches as well as disturb your sleep.

While we recommend limiting screen time on our devices that emit blue light, we all have to be on them. We recommend the 20/20/20 rule - every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break, and look at something 20 feet away. Having a good blue filter on your lenses, whether being from your blue light anti-reflective coating, or from your blue filtering lens material is important. It is important to have blue protection in your sunglasses as well. The natural blue light from the sun is far more damaging than your screen at home.

We work with the best independent companies to provide blue protection with or without prescription for an affordable price.
